   The Golden Inn is located at the corner of State Route 320 and historic route 40, one mile east of Exit 156B off of Interstate 70. The property sits on just over 11 acres of land which provides for a rural feel close to Richmond, Indiana.  U.S. Rt. 40 is also known as the National Road.  The National Road passes through Preble County,  Ohio, and Wayne County, Indiana.  Richmond, Indiana,also lies on the old national road and is just a mile from the Golden Inn.  The Wayne County Fairgrounds are located in Richmond, Indiana, on the National Road just a short ride down Rt 40. 

  The Golden Inn serves the Richmond, Indiana, and Wayne County, Indiana, hotel and motel market.  We also serve Eaton, Ohio, and Preble County hotel and motel markets.   • The Christmas song "Up On the House Top" was written in New Paris, Ohio, in 1864 by the Reverend Benjamin Hanby.
  • Preble County is located in the heart of the old Northwest Territory. General Arthur St. Clair marched through this area in 1791 on his way to the Maumee River where he was defeated by Chief Little Turtle of the Miami.
